Over time, the temporary wrinkles that form on your face when you move your facial muscles may become permanent. Wrinkle relaxing injections, popularly known by one of it’s trade names such as Botox, Dysport and Azzalure, is a prescription medicine that’s injected to relax the muscles beneath, preventing the creation of wrinkles with age. What can be treated? The common applications are: Frown lines Crow’s feet lines around eyes Forehead lines Eye brow lifting Droopy mouth corners Gummy smile Smoking lines around the mouth Bunny Lines (at the top of the nose) Pebbly Chin (pebbly shaped indents in the chin) Eyebrow lifting This procedure can also be referred to as the “brow arch procedure”. The injections can cause brow elevation and therefore can improve the shape of brow arch and position of eye brows. The brow lift treatment can be performed on all skin types and may be particularly effective for people who have naturally drooping eyelids and low-hanging eyebrows. The brow lift literally ‘lifts’ the skin tissues above and around the eyebrows so that the natural eyebrow arch is a few millimeters higher. Patients who experience mild hooding are usually suitable candidates for the procedure. The result will gradually appear and final result will be achieved 2 weeks after the treatment.

Prior to the treatment: The doctor will medically examine you and make sure you are suitable for the procedure. Topical aesthetic may be applied to numb the area before the injection Treatment: The Botulinum toxin will be injected precisely into the treatment areas using the same size needle as they do for babies (so very fine). The result will gradually appear and final result will be achieved 2 weeks after the treatment Post treatment: Avoid touching, rubbing or applying make up on the treated areas for 4 hours. The procedure takes around 15 minutes to complete. prevent those deeper, more permanent lines that appear with age. There is no long term side effects of Botulinum toxin injection reported until now.

Injection related side effects are minimal and temporary such as redness, swelling and bruising. On occasion it can cause the eyelids to drop, this is rare and if it happens its temporary and will resolve itself, usually with an even better lift than normal. Spreading of the Botox to the muscles nearby can be easily prevented by avoiding rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 4 hours

On average 4-6 months. In order to achieve the best prevention of ageing lines, it is recommended to have the treatment regularly every 4 months

The relaxant effect will wear off over time and you can effectively continue or discontinue at any time that suits you. This being said regular treatment will prevent those deeper, more permanent lines that appear with age. There is no long term side effects of Botulinum toxin injection reported until now.

The actual chemical Botulinum toxin is vegan, and although it use to be prepared using an egg base, this is now not the case, making it making it suitable for vegans.
