How does it work? 1) We will ask you some questions about your skin and the lesion 2) We'll take a series of images of your skin, using a special lens, some detailed images of your mole or lesion. 3) A consultant dermatologist at Map my Mole will review your answers and images, You'll receive a digital copy of your report with their findings and advice on what steps to take next. What happens if the report finds a suspicious mole or lesion? If a consultant thinks the mole or lesion is of concern, they will ask you to see your GP or a dermatologist. Map My Mole will also phone you to check that you have read and understood your report. Where will my results be sent? You will be emailed your report. Optionally, you'll also be able to share a copy of your report with the clinic, although this is not required. Who can use this service? Anyone can use this service. How long does it take to get my results? Once we have completed your submission, you will receive a copy of your report within 48 hours. What's included on my report? Your report will include the consultant dermatologist's opinion on what your mole or skin lesion is and advice on what steps you should take next. What happens if you think it's skin cancer? Skin cancer diagnosis requires a biopsy, and cannot be diagnosed from images. If the dermatologist thinks a mole or lesion is concerning, they will ask you to see your GP or a dermatologist. This does not necessarily mean that you have skin cancer, but does mean that it needs further investigation. Most GPs will take the action recommended by our consultant without needing to see you first. All our consultants also work in the NHS and are on the General Medical Council register of Dermatology Specialists so GPs know they are very experienced. Your GP may give you a prescription or refer you to the Dermatology department at your local hospital. Who is Map My Mole? Map My Mole, by Community Dermatology Limited, is a private service that offers remote assessments of moles and lesions by consultant dermatologists. The Map My Mole service is aligned with the British Association of Dermatologists teledermatology guidelines.

Treating Age Spots & Pigmentation Age spots also known as liver spots, sun spots, brown spots, or solar lentigo are common, benign areas of pigmentation that often appear on the hands, neck, shoulders, and face as we age. These marks result from a buildup of melanin and lipofuscin in the skin’s connective tissue. While completely harmless, they can be an aesthetic concern for many. At Eco Skin Clinic, we offer targeted treatments such as CryoPen, Advanced Electrolysis, and Nd:YAG Laser. These methods are highly effective and precise when treating pigmentation located within the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin). However, if the pigment extends deeper into the dermis, treatment may be less successful. Telangiectasis These are not ‘broken capillaries’ but permanently dilated capillaries. The thin, singular cell wall structure of the fine facial capillaries dilate and constrict constantly in order to control the body temperature and their elasticity weakens and they can become permanently dilated. Their visibility is often exacerbated by the breakdown of the skin’s supporting network of collagen and elastin and ageing, thinning skin. There are numerous causes for Telangiectasia including: ageing, hereditary and genetic causes, pregnancy, hormones, general skin fragility, smoking, extreme sports, temperature extremes and harsh weather exposure. Advanced electrolysis is the only treatment suitable to treat red veins. A course of treatments is often needed and spaced out prevent skin damage. The accurate positioning of the probe over the blood vessel and a gentle tap that applies current to the skin’s surface causes that tiny section of vessel to immediately disappear. Treatment sessions are usually for example 15 minutes per cheek. Rosacea Rosacea can sometimes also have dilated capillaries increasing the appearance of the redness to the skin. They present themselves as slightly raised or dome shaped red spots and are of unknown origin. They are mostly seen on the trunk in middle aged and elderly clients and are even more common in men than women. Larger ones (50p size+) will need more than one treatment. Skin Tags are a common fibrous skin condition found in areas of friction such as the armpits, under the breasts, groin or around the neck where necklaces or collars may irritate. They often present with a neck like a mushroom and vary in size from a tiny speck, smaller than a grain of uncooked rice, to the size of a large pea or larger. They are viral in nature (Human Papilloma Virus HPV) and whilst not infectious they can proliferate on individuals with some people suffering from hundreds of them. Advanced electrolysis and Plasma Pen are probably the quickest, easiest way of removing skin tags of all sizes, in a safe and effective manner. There are two different methods of skin tag removal for different types of tags: 1) Small skin tags with no neck: The probe is rested on the skin tag, the current generates heat and the tag sticks to the probe and is removed. 2) Larger skin tags with a neck: The skin tag is lifted with tweezers and using the tip of the probe generates a heat current across the neck of the tag, the heat is continued back and forth until the tag come off. Millia are small white lumps lying superficially under the surface of the skin. They are a retention of keratin and sebaceous material within the pilosebaceous duct, eccrine sweat duct, or the sebaceous collar surrounding vellus hair. Their exact cause is unknown although they are often related to diet with a high cholesterol count, excessive Vitamin C, too rich moisturising cream and are also associated with dry skin which can be acidic. They can all be treated easily with advanced electrolysis which gently dries them up so that the hard keratinised centre is broken down and this will then be absorbed by the skin following treatment. This is a much gentler way to treat them, as opposed to removing them with a microlance, which can damage the skin.

Small to medium, raised benign skin lesion which varies in colour from brown to black. They are usually found on the face, in particular around the eye area, and tend to be more common on dark-skinned individuals. The cause is unknown, but generally appear after puberty, and grow in size and number with age. Seborrhoeic keratosis is a benign, asymptomatic mass, primarily caused by the ageing process. It is also known as seborrhoeic warts, senile warts, barnacles or basal cell papilloma. They have a thick wart-like surface and are usually colourless when they appear and become brown to black over time. Seborrhoeic keratosis can be confused with other skin conditions, so it is advisable to seek a GP’s advice before visiting an electrologist. SEBACEOUS CONDITIONS (including sebaceous cysts, epidermoid cysts, pilar cysts and sebaceous hyperplasia) A cyst is a closed sac that has a lining and contents that are liquid or semi-solid. Sebaceous, epidermoid and pilar cysts have al in the past been incorrectly grouped together as 'sebaceous cysts' as they present similarly as round, dome-shaped bumps lying just under the skin's surface. All three types of cysts are benign, not pre-cancerous and not contagious. The reduction using advanced electrolysis is not strictly removal' but rather treatment. The needle is inserted into the cyst and the current is released; this softens or desiccates the contents. A total removal of the sac is achieved only through minor surgery under local anaesthetic and will result in a scar. Some cysts may be too large and may need medical removal, so please book a consultation to asses the cyst. Sebaceous cysts True' sebaceous cysts, containing sebum, can be distinguished by their clear, oily liquid discharge upon rupture. They are soft to the touch and are generally located on the scalp, face, neck and/or back. Epidermoid cysts Epidermoid cysts are yellow or whitish, round, sometimes dome-shaped raised bumps, lying just under the skin's surface. A small dark plug may be present often referred to as a central punctum (or umbilication), through which it may be possible to squeeze out some of the cyst's contents. The cysts range in size from those that are smaller than a pea to those that are several centimetres across. Research has identified that epidermoid cysts are twice as likely to be seen in men than women and are commonly seen on the face, neck and trunk. Pilar cysts Pilar cysts can be distinguished by the lack of a central punctum or umbilica-tion and are most likely seen in areas of dense hair follicles. They are firm, skin coloured to white, slow growing mobile nodules ranging from 5 mm to 5 cm in diameter and found in the intradermal and/or subcutaneous layers. An estimated 5-10% of the population will develop a pilar cyst and of that number 90% will appear on the scalp. Very occasionally the contents can extrude to form a soft cutaneous horn and in very mature pilar cysts some calcification can develop. Sebaceous hyperplasia Sebaceous hyperplasia is a disorder of the sebaceous glands. Blemishes can be single or multiple and manifest as cream to yellowish, soft, small papules, usually with a central punctum or umbilication, on the face (particularly nose, cheeks and forehead). The surface is usually smooth and shiny, although they are occasionally rough. The appearance of the lobular papules gives the cysts a distinctive doughnut' or 'cauliflower' presentation and prominent blood vessels can sometimes be seen. Although commonly associated with hair follicies, sebaceous hyperplasia blemishes can be found in hairless areas as well. When newly formed, they may swell after perspiration, although as the blemish ages this will become less obvious. Sebaceous hyperplasia blemishes are asymptomatic although mad become red, irritated and painful after scratching, shaving or being otherwise disturbed. They are often seen on the skin of newborns but resolve quickly, and then usually not seen again until middle age. For some, these bumps are a natural response to the hormones of pregnancy and usually resolve on their own within a few weeks after delivery. Sebaceous conditions can be treated successfully however it may need repeated treatments depending on the size and nature of the condition.

Mole Treatment with Cryopen Moles may be treated using Cryopen technology; however, prior written confirmation from your GP or dermatologist is required. This documentation must verify that the mole is benign and appropriate for treatment. ACPs only consumable part is a needle that needs to be disposed in clinical waste. It is a very low consumable treatment making it very eco friendly. The only products used on the skin are Clinisept+ and Aloe Vera which are both suitable for vegans and is manufactured in accordance with cruelty-free standards.
