You don't need to choose the treatment yourself. During your consultation we will assess the lesion or concern and recommend the most appropriate option. Depending on what is being treated, this may include CryoPen, Advanced Electrolysis, Plasma Pen or Nd:YAG Laser.

Yes. A consultation is required before lesion and red vein removal so we can assess the area, check your medical history and make sure treatment is appropriate. Warts and verrucas have a dedicated consultation, while Nd:YAG Laser requires a consultation and patch test.

We can assess whether a lesion appears suitable for the cosmetic treatments we provide, but we do not diagnose suspicious or unidentified skin lesions. If there is any uncertainty, we may recommend our Map My Mole service or ask you to obtain appropriate medical assessment before treatment.

Suitable benign moles may be considered for CryoPen treatment, but we require written confirmation that the mole has been medically assessed as benign and is appropriate for cosmetic removal. This can be obtained through an appropriate medical assessment pathway, including Map My Mole where suitable.

Map My Mole allows specialist dermoscopic images of a mole or skin lesion to be reviewed by a UK consultant dermatologist. A report is typically returned within 24–48 hours and will advise whether further investigation, monitoring or treatment is recommended.

This varies considerably depending on the type, size, depth and number of lesions being treated. Some small lesions may respond to a single treatment, while others require a course of treatments. Warts, verrucas, larger lesions and some vascular or pigmented concerns commonly require more than one session.

Sensation varies depending on the treatment and area being treated. You may experience brief heat, cold, stinging or a sharp sensation during treatment. We will explain what to expect before starting and keep you comfortable throughout your appointment.

This depends on the treatment. Temporary redness, swelling, darkening, it can blisters and a small crust will occur. With some treatments, the lesion itself will darken or crust before gradually shedding as the skin heals. It is important not to pick or remove any crusts prematurely.

Once successfully removed, some lesions do not return in exactly the same place, but recurrence is possible and you may develop new lesions over time. Conditions such as warts, verrucas, xanthelasma, sebaceous hyperplasia and syringomas can be particularly prone to recurrence or new lesions developing.

No. We treat selected superficial pigmentation and visible blood vessels where treatment is appropriate. We do not use these lesion-removal treatments for melasma, and not every type of pigmentation or vascular condition is suitable for cosmetic treatment. Your consultation allows us to determine the most appropriate approach.

Some lesions around the eye area, including suitable milia, xanthelasma and syringomas, may be treatable depending on their exact position and characteristics. Because this is a delicate area, suitability must be assessed carefully before treatment.

Changes in skin colour can occur following lesion removal as part of the skin's healing response. Treatments such as CryoPen, Advanced Electrolysis, Plasma Pen and laser intentionally create a controlled injury to the treated tissue, which can sometimes lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).On lighter skin tones, the healing area may remain pink or red for a period of time. On darker skin tones, post-inflammatory pigmentation can be more noticeable and may appear brown or darker than the surrounding skin.These colour changes usually fade gradually, but pigmentation can take several months sometimes six months or longer to fully settle. Occasionally, a slight difference in colour may remain.There is also a risk of hypopigmentation, where the treated area becomes lighter than the surrounding skin because pigment-producing cells have been affected. This is less common but can sometimes be long-lasting or permanent.Your individual risk will vary depending on your skin type, the lesion being treated, the treatment method and how your skin heals. We will discuss this with you during your consultation and provide appropriate aftercare advice.

We won't treat it. If a lesion cannot be confidently identified as suitable for cosmetic removal, or if it has concerning features or has changed, we will recommend further assessment. This may be through Map My Mole, your GP or a dermatologist depending on the circumstances.

For some lesions this may be possible where the lesion is clearly suitable for treatment and there are no contraindications. Other treatments require assessment beforehand.
