Skin Boosters
long-lasting dermal boosters designed for facial and tissue regeneration

Advanced skin boosters, are a new skin biorevitalisation procedure with hyaluronic acid and a complex of skin rejuvenation components, which deeply moisturise the skin, reduce wrinkles, improve the elasticity of the skin, promote skin cell renewal, stimulate the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and collagen, and address increased skin pigmentation.

Profhilo is the most well know skin booster but there have been new skin boosters that have come onto the market that offer more than just a hyaluronic acid treatment, they also contain amino acids, so as well as the above effects of hyaluronic acids, they penetrates deeper into the skin where they enhance the peptide structure providing strong lifting effects, firmness, and deep hydration.

This is a relatively new treatment concept which has become a lot more popular over the last few years. It particularly appeals to patients who want to look fresh and natural with their anti-ageing treatments.

Skin booster results don’t have the dramatic impact that can be associated with the better known non-surgical treatments. They don’t ‘freeze’ the features or stop muscle movement (like BOTOX® can), although they can help to smooth out lines and wrinkles. They won’t deliver exaggerated or over-inflated results like dermal fillers can, although they can add more subtle volume by gently plumping the skin.

Advantages of the Skin Boosters
-
Visible facial rejuvenation rapid – skin lifting without plastic surgery.
-
Longer-lasting skin glow – elastic, glowing and soft skin.
-
Overall lifting effect for the skin of the face, reduction of wrinkles, restoration of consistent face colour.

Skin booster injections contain an ingredient that is a soft, gel-like substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This is naturally occurring in the skin and holds incredible amounts of moisture. When it depletes with age, it causes skin to appear lined or loose with a dryer texture.
Tiny injections of hydrating hyaluronic acid restores the moisture in the skin, which improves its elasticity, firmness and radiance and also triggers the skin’s own repair and tightening mechanisms, which enhances the result.
Some skin boosters also contain other ingredients to bring further benefits to the skin.
Skin boosters are very similar to mesotherapy.
The same ingredients that you may find in mesotherapy solutions can also be found in skin boosters. The main difference between them is that skin booster contains more stabilised ingredients, especially the hyaluronic acid meaning the results will last you longer, fewer treatments are needed to see a difference.
They also tend to be slightly thicker giving a more plumped effect to the skin.
We use a few advanced skin boosters all have slightly different effects and can benefit different skin concerns.
Within your consultation we can discuss the best skin booster for your skin and design the best treatment plan to suit your needs.
Below is more information on each of the skin boosters we use.
The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.
How is Profhilo Injected? Profhilo uses the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) Technique which identifies 5 points on each side of the face. This translates into fewer injection points, a lower possibility of side effects (bruises), and fewer sessions spaced over time with respect to a standard biostimulation protocol, for greater patient comfort and compliance. It is recommended to undergo 2 sessions 1 month apart. For more intensive skin therapy, clients may require 3 treatments.
How long does Profhilo Last For? Clients may feel an immediate improvement thanks to the hydrating effect, but it can take a few weeks before the real results of treatment start to be noticed – as the Profhilo encourages the body to produce its own anti-ageing collagen and elastin.
After a month the skin feels smoother, softer, tighter and plumper. At this point a second treatment is needed to fully stimulate the collagen and elastin production for optimal results.
The Profhilo continues to work in the skin for around a month after treatment, at which point it will have been fully metabolised by the body. By this time, it will have stimulated natural collagen and elastin production, meaning that the rejuvenating effects of treatment will continue even after Profhilo has been naturally broken down.
After initial treatments, a Profhilo treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
Revok50 is a syringe of sterile gel intended for intradermal injections. Revok50 combines stabilised hyaluronic acid with a uniform double chain length of 2,200 kDa and amino acids which consist of L-proline, L-hydroxyproline, glycine and L-lysine HCl.
Revok50 composition promotes the stimulation and repair of the skin’s connective tissue, producing an anti-ageing effect, thus reversing trophic alterations of the skin such as wrinkles, scars, stretch marks.
Skin Dehydration
Repair of injuries caused by environmental agents such as UV radiation and pollution.
Connective tissue lesions such as stretch marks, scars and other dystrophies.
Synergism with other aesthetics treatments such as fillers, lasers, microneedling.
Fine and medium wrinkles
How is Revok50 Injected?
Revok50 uses the unique Double Crown Lift Technique giving an even spread of product with less injection points but also targeting tension lines and help anchor the surface ligaments to give a lift. It also is licenced to use on the forehead (which profhilo isn't), allowing a whole face treatment not just lower face.
It is recommended to undergo 3 sessions 1 month apart. For a more intensive treatment 4 sessions may be required.
How long does Revok50 Last For?
Clients may feel an immediate improvement thanks to the hydrating effect, but it can take a few weeks before the real results of treatment start to be noticed as the full anti-ageing effects take place.
Revok50 continues to work in the skin for around a month after treatment, at which point it will have been fully metabolised by the body. By this time, it will have stimulated natural collagen and elastin production, meaning that the rejuvenating effects of treatment will continue even after Revok50 has been naturally broken down.
After initial treatments, a Revok50 treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.

Fillers and Skin Boosters both contain Hyaluronic acid – which naturally occurs in the body and retains over 1,000 times its weight in water in the skin, keeping the area hydrated and moisturised.
The difference is fillers use cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid which is thicker stays in one place, whereas Skin Boosters uses uncross-linked which more like our natural hyaluronic acid, it just pumps and hydrates naturally, IT IS NOT A FILLER and with that does not contain chemicals fillers can and does not pose any risk with application.
Rather than just ‘filling in’ lines and wrinkles, skin boosters can also contain other ingredients which help towards other skin conditions.
Skin Boosters excellent for those people who would prefer to have a more natural look and would like to avoid the use of dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections.
Mild swelling and bruising are the most common potential side effects immediately following treatment.
Consultations are an important part of the treatment process in allowing you to understand the treatment and to establish if the benefits of the treatment are outweighed by any possible side effects. During a consultation, your characteristics, such as your area of concern and your medical status, will be assessed. Your therapist will discuss any possible side effects, questions you may have and any aftercare you should adhere to prior to you having treatment.
