Microdermabrasion
A minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture.

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses exfoliation to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter skin. We use a diamond-tipped wand to gently exfoliate the surface of your skin, leaving it refreshed and rejuvenated.
How does Diamond Microdermabrasion work?
Genuine, laser-cut sterile diamond tips are used to delicately remove the outer layer of skin, polishing the surface while a vacuum simultaneously eliminates dead skin cells, impurities, and debris. This dual-action process not only exfoliates but also increases the absorption of skincare products, enhancing their effectiveness.
In addition to its exfoliating benefits, microdermabrasion stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and promote a youthful, healthy appearance. The combination of vacuum and pressure ensures a uniform diamond peel, allowing for personalized treatments tailored to your skin type.

Advantages of Adding LED Light Therapy to Facial Treatments
LED light therapy is a versatile addition to facial treatments, offering several key benefits:
1) Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation: Different wavelengths of light penetrate the skin at varying depths to stimulate cellular activity, promote collagen production, and encourage tissue repair. This results in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
2) Reduction of Inflammation: LED therapy can calm irritated or inflamed skin, making it especially beneficial for conditions like rosacea or post-treatment redness.
3) Treatment for Acne and Blemishes: Blue light helps eliminate acne-causing bacteria, reducing breakouts and inflammation, while red light aids in healing and minimising acne scars.
4)Improved Product Efficacy: The increased blood flow and cell activity facilitated by LED therapy can enhance the absorption and effectiveness of skincare products applied during or after treatment.
5) Non-Invasive and Safe: LED light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment with no downtime, making it suitable for all skin types and a valuable addition to any facial regimen.
Incorporating LED light therapy elevates facial treatments, targeting specific skin concerns while improving overall skin health and appearance.

For milia removal without a skin care treatment, please see our advanced electrolysis page.
Milia need the skin to be prepped to enable a removal, so it can be added to any of our PRO skin treatments. Not all milia are suitable for a manual extraction, your skin professional can advise you on if it can be removed.
What is a milia spot?
Milia are hard spots found on the surface of the skin. The bumps are tiny cysts filled with a protein called keratin and are caused by a build-up of dead skin cells. They are usually white in colour but sometimes appear as yellowish bumps.
What causes milia to develop?
The reason why the dead skin cells collect without being shed normally is still a mystery, although sun damage and overuse of steroid creams have been suggested as culprits.

Crystal Microdermabrasion
The regular crystal microdermabrasion technology involves the use of a special, hand-held device that propels a high-speed flow of aluminum oxide crystals onto the skin. At the same time, the machine's vacuum system sucks away dirt, dead cells and used crystals. Aluminum oxide crystals have been the most commonly used abrasive agent for the last 20 years. Aluminum oxide is the second hardest mineral (diamonds are first). There has been a link between aluminum use on the body (deodorants) and cancer. Sodium bicarbonate crystals are an organic alternative to aluminum oxide crystals but they are a lot softer and less effective in microdermabrasion.
Diamond Microdermabrasion
The diamond microdermabrasion system, on the other hand, replaces the micro-crystal flow with a laser cut diamond tip wand. Areas closer to the eyes and mouth can be abraded more accurately with diamond abrasion (no risk of stray crystals causing damage, getting into your eyes, nose or being ingested). No risk to the operator for repetitive exposure.
Other than that, crystal-free diamond head microdermabration works in the same way traditional microabrasion does. Diamond microderm machines usually come with wands of varied size and coarseness for different skin types and depths of resurfacing. The wand tip is made of natural laser cut diamond chips which polish the skin and remove dead cells, which are then vacuumed back into a waste filter. Many professionals prefer natural diamond tips because they are easier to control don't irritate the skin and give a more precise treatment (natural minerals are less likely to trigger adverse reactions).

Your skin works hard to keep you healthy, and you can return the favour by looking after it.
Top Tips:
Use an SPF. Sunlight contains ultraviolet (UV) rays, which are the main cause of skin ageing and can cause skin cancer.
Stop smoking. Smoking is one of the main environmental factors in premature skin ageing by breaking down and preventing the production of new collagen. Smoking also causes the tiny blood vessels in the skin to constrict, reducing the supply of oxygen to the skin.
Cut down your alcohol consumption. When you drink alcohol, your body and skin can become dehydrated, leaving the skin looking older and tired.
Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water.
Follow a skin care routine to nourish and treat your skin. Ask your skin care professional what products would be best suited to protect and improve your skin. Cleanse morning and night. Exfoliate. Use a mask, eye cream and skin appropriate moisturiser.
If you experience a reaction to your treatment that continues for more than 24 hours please see your GP.
